My wife and I were were appalled by the treatment at Nikola Tesla Airport. The staff were perhaps two steps short of human rights violations. With the excessive amounts of waiting time (to get the buses, waiting in the bus, waiting to get off the bus), the racism we faced (being extremely impolite to us, giving us a hard time with our legal documents, offensive remarks), the mismanagement and chaos in the airport itself, this trip was a nightmare. Maybe it was because we were obviously brown-skinned, we seem to have really irked the security staff and all of them were quite disrespectful and borderline abusive. When we told our fellow European friends of this experience, they said its on par for Serbians to act in a racist, childish manner.
