Traveling through the CDG airport is a pleasant experience- the airport is clean, well staffed, and efficient with a great selections of duty free products and restaurants. The incident happened when my partner and I were lining up for security screening. A security officer (her badge showed the name Tessa) was holding up a signage which showed what we should or shouldn’t take out or remove from our bags. She spoke loudly with an attitude towards all travellers - in French only. I speak and understand a little bit of French, but now sure how other international travellers would feel about that. As I dropped off my backpack before walking through the security door, Tessa suddenly yelled at me in an agressive and arrogant tone « Madam! Your watch! Je l’ai déjà dit! ». I did not respond verbally and took off my Garmin smart watch and walked through the door as supervised. I noticed she talked to the passenger next to me in the same tone. At some point, another security member actually told her to relax because they can see everything through the scans. Although this is a short, one-way exchange, I found her behaviour rude,
unprofessional, and unwarranted. Everyone was behaving well, yet she decided to harass travellers on an extremely quiet Wednesday afternoon with only around 20 people in line. It is quite disappointing to leave Paris, such a wonderful city, on this unpleasant note. I feel the need to report and speak up about her behaviour, as all travellers deserve mutual respect in a safe environment.
