Good day
I am absolutely disgusted in the way my husband and I were treated at the security bag check on Friday evening.
My bag was put aside when going through the security camera. There was only one official on duty checking the flagged bags. Even though there were three people waiting already. She was very rude to the person who's bag she was checking before mine too.
When it was my turn to be checked, having already been made to wait an unreasonable time, she just walked off and started chatting to her colleagues.
My husband asked her to hurry up and check the bag so we could go and have dinner before our flight. She started shouting at him that he was disrespecting her and asked who grew him??! This tyrade of abuse carried on a good 5 mins, with my 11 year old son there to witness it.
She then proceeded to search my bag, very slowly, paging through my book and obviously being very spitefull and doing her best to waste more time.
All she found was a bottle of 50ml hand sanitiser. I told her my understanding, from the notices put up, was that all liquids over 100ml had to be kept separate. She shouted at me that this was UK law and that I was wrong.
We departed from and returned to Gatwick the previous week and there was no problem with the exact same contents of my bag.
Her behaviour was completelty uncalled for. After all, I was the one being inconvenieced. She was there to do her job.
I was appalled and very upset. The management of Heathrow staff should be embarrassed to have someone like that working for them.
