I was travelling alone from the Heathrow flight EK008 business. While I was passing through security between 6.30 am to 7.30 am on 16th July’23, I was carrying my prescription homeopathy medicines along with my doctor’s prescription. I was carrying 9 small bottles of these medicines, all different, in 20ml bottles. All these 9 bottles won’t fit in single plastic bag provided at security and hence I had 2 bottles which won’t fit in the plastic bag, each with 2 doses (40 drops in each bottles) left in the bottles which I had to take just before boarding and one before leaving the aircraft, in Dubai.
The lady at security was very rude and was insisting me to throw-away the medicines, just because these won’t fit inside the small plastic bag. These medicines are for my Vitiligo treatment and I told her that but she didn’t listen. With heavy heart I had to take all the medicines without water and it caused me sickness and my head started spinning. And because of all this other passengers started looking at me which made me more nervous, leading to nervous breakdown. I was travelling alone and it made my journey very hard.
I also went to see the security manager and she was also very rough and said that for security reason she will not support to take the medicines and also denied taking my complaint.
I understand that liquids more than 100ml are not allowed but I was carrying prescription medicines along with the prescription and only 40 drops were left in bottles.
Are we not supposed to carry bottles with liquid less than 100ml each, because they all are not fitting in one small plastic bag provided at security?
Because of all this unnecessary hassle, I suffered throughout my journey from London to Dubai, for which only your security staff was responsible.
