Subject: Complaint Regarding Unprofessional Behavior of Vistara Airlines Staff
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally complain about the unprofessional behavior I encountered with the staff of Vistara Airlines at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport on July 8, 2024, at approximately 7:40 PM.
Upon reaching the check-in counter, the officer asked for an Indian visa. I informed her that I hold an official passport and am entitled to stay in India for 45 days without a visa. She asked me to wait for her senior officer. When the senior officer arrived, I reiterated the same information, but she also asked me to wait while she consulted another senior. I requested to speak with the Indian High Commission or the Indian immigration office, which operates 24/7, but my request was ignored. Instead, she insisted that I could not travel to India without a visa.
I was mentally distressed and confused by this situation. I requested that they check my passport for the immigration stamps from my previous travels from Dhaka to Delhi and Delhi to Zurich, which would confirm my travel history. However, they refused to listen. Another officer then suggested I should book a flight with another airline, as Vistara would not allow me to board without a visa.
After waiting for nearly two hours, I approached the officer again, showing her the official website (https://www.ivacbd.com/for-bangladeshi) which clearly states that holders of diplomatic and official passports issued by the Government of Bangladesh do not require a visa to travel to India for up to 45 days. Despite this, the officer claimed she was not obligated to follow this guideline.
I showed her the bilateral agreement, but she remained uninterested. Finally, I requested once more to speak with her senior management. Only then did she agree to check me in after consulting her senior.
This entire experience was extremely distressing and mentally exhausting. I was traveling to Europe for refreshment, but instead, I faced undue mental torture due to the unprofessional behavior of your staff.
I request a thorough investigation into this matter.
Regards,
Wazihur
