To whom It may concern,

My husband and I planned a trip to France Paris with his parents (pensioners) they had a very difficult year with my father-in-law losing his very close sister after persuasion we managed the take them away. We flew out form Leeds and Bradford airport on the 8th of September and landed at Charles de Gaulle airport Paris.
We didn’t have a problem on the way everything was fine even the people we met the hotel was very polite and helpful especially we had elderly with us but when we flew out from Charles de Gaulle airport to come back to the UK there was a lady working at security who was very rude not understanding we were tourist’s and not fluent with our French, instead of being helpful she was very rude when I tried to explain to her I am wearing gold jewellery and would that bleep through the machine, she rudely replied “you’re not the only one with gold, go through again’ she would not listen to what I was saying, I travel for work and pleasure and have not had this problem before as normally I am told gold jewellery is fine.
I then went on to collect my stuff and seen she did the same to another lady who looked African/Caribbean/Jamaican… and told her stand aside and then she did the same to my father-in-law.
I understand the importance of the checks, but I do not understand why be so rude they are not above any other human so it would be nice to treat others with respect.
I had a Scarfe on my head, I am a Sikh lady and wore it in respect of my in laws and my father-in-law had his head covered too because Sikh cover their head,
I feel that’s why we got picked on.
I was advised by friends and family do not visit Paris, but I ignored because I didn’t think racism was a thing in this century as we all enjoy other ethnic foods and enjoy visiting other countries but don’t enjoy the company of those in their own country.
There were couple of gentlemen working near the entrance, so I made a complaint they said to send an email, they gave me the lady’s ID:011562.
I would have been in contact sooner but as I mentioned I am on business trips often and I have just returned from Ireland.
I hope this will be revised as the airport assistants are the first impressions and they were not very good for us as this was our final journey in Paris it was all spoilt by one individual.
I am not the one who enjoys complaining as time is needed to write complaints which I do not have as a businesswoman these petty things are not on my agenda but on this occasion, it’s been different as I had my husband parents with us.
