It is unfortunate that I had to write to you as we think our problem didnot got resolved on complaining at the airport grievance counter.
This is an unfortunate incident that happened today at around 5:30 AM in the morning. We reached India by boarding FINNAIR from Finland on 24th of April 2023. The flight number was a Y0121.
When we reached the immigration counter and we were standing in the economy line because we had an economy ticket. The ground staff who was managing the queue asked us and opened the ribbons to cross to the business class counters, as they were free and there was a lot of rush. He spoke in a very inappropriate and rude manner as if we are some uneducated people, when we asked him to be a little polite, then he started arguing with us and the person sitting on the immigration counter number seven of business class with a lady on counter number six by his side, they also got united with him and made a false statement that we have broken the economy line to enter the business queue which was not the situation as it can be easily tracked by watching the CCTV recording. All of them started fighting as we try to fight back by saying that they should be polite, they made us stand there for approximately 10 minutes and let other economy person to immigrate. We reached the information counter where we made written a complain (pic attached with mail) on this date and a girl she came addressed the issues and took us to identify the staff which we did. Then they called the senior of those ground staff and instead of listening to us supported their false statement that we had broken the queue from the economy to the business class and they were stopping us and that was the reason of argument which was completely false. When we asked them to just check the CCTV camera they said we do not consider any issue you can leave.
We consider it as a highly improper, inappropriate and disrespectful manner of behaving with the fellow Indian citizen at an Indian airport. It is unfortunate to see that we treat foreigners with some grace and we treat our own people in such a bad manner while it is reverse in every other country around the world and it was very shameful.
I consider it important to to let the authorities know about such kind of people who work in an environment where on daily basis they interact with people so it is my humble request to take strict actions. I have mentioned the time so it can be easily found out from the duty roster who was posted there and we would be making the same complain on the PM portal also. We asked their name but no one told us that.
Kindly look into the matter and take strict action against the staff. It is a duty to inform the concerned administration about the staff that they are working with so that other citizens and other passengers do not undergo the same issue
