Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) Abuse Report

My powerbank accidently got inside my check in baggage. I was unaware of that, but the Indigo staff didn't find it at the time when they accepted the bag. And after all the check in procedures are complete i was waiting for the flight at Gate No. 6 at Terminal 1, i was called at 3.30PM on my mobile and was asked to report at the gate no. 7 counter. From there i was directed by a staff to some sort of security room where my bag was kept. The officer there said to me that there is powerbank in my bag and asked me to remove it. I opened the bag found the powerbank and removed it. He entered it in some register. While i was waiting for collecting that powerbank, the airport staff to my shock collected it and deposited in some box. I requested the airport staff that it was not some harmful good and got into the bag by chance. But he denied my request and said to me that you can't get it back. As i was unaware of the rules and the flight time was nearing i didn't attempted much to argue with the staff.

But later i came to know that no such rule exists and i could have easily carried it on my handbag.

This was extremely disappointing from the part of airport staff and is a clear case of cheating and loot.
It is extremely disappointing to get treated in this way in one of the most prominent airports in our country. The airport staff didn't even explain the thing properly to me ane behaved to me like i have done some crime just because a powerbank happened to be in my checkin baggage by chance.

I feel extremely disappointed with this treatment by delhi airport staff and would expect an action from your side.
