I had landed international airport Terminal 3 at 8.20am from Heathrow. I had bought a Jo Malone candle for religious purpose from Heathrow duty free.
Then I had a connecting flight to Darbhanga by flight SG8495. I went through security at domestic terminal three at 11.55am.
All my bags were checked which I have no problem with however the officer asked me to leave my candle - as according to him it was not allowed.
I have went through the list of items- and having previously carried candles through security with no issues- I was surprised.
I would like clarification of how he decided this and made me leave a large Jo
Malone candle worth £40.
I had proof of buying the candle from duty free. I still had to leave it as the officer would not listen.
I have lived in India most of my life and feel proud of all changes and developments happening however this incidence has put me off.
It is disheartening to see security officers feeling they can decide on their own.
A reply and possibly return of my candle which he kept would be appreciated.
Kind Regards,
